Eyyaz at reception was a wonderful host, friendly and accommodating, and gave us lovely recommendations. The team at Somerset are making real strides to improve the establishment's reputation and brand. It's good value, centrally located, and easy to reach bus and tube stations. Cheers to the team at SH. I'll stay again if I'm back on this side of town. Don't be put off by the low reviews.

The room was spacious, but the carpet was filthy, the fan was coated in dust, and the wardrobe's top shelf was so dusty it made me feel sick. We were tired from the journey, so we left our clothes in the suitcase and went to bed. The beds seemed clean enough, though I was nervous. Around 1am, someone banged on the next door on and off for half an hour, waking the children. I was alone with them and didn't feel safe opening the window to say anything. I eventually slept around 3am, then woke at 5:30 to traffic noise because the second window screen was missing. We got ready for my brother's wedding, the whole reason for the stay, but the shower head was broken and badly rusted. I wouldn't risk my health or my children's using it, so we got dressed, packed up and left immediately. We went to the wedding without showers or clean hair. All that for £179 for one night. Disgusting. We had chosen the hotel because it was so close to the wedding venue and checked in the night before. I was sorely disappointed.

The area is perfect, but the “Hotel” is trash. It was dirty and loud, and though I can't vouch for the view, I'd pick a room at the quiet back. The bed was the number one sleep killer, and the bathroom pipes stank terribly. Most of the staff were unfriendly and their English was really poor, though one person was super kind. We had our worst stay there. They should pay people to stay at their place, not the other way around. The photos look nice, but aren't what you get. We may have been there in 2018. Not recommended!

We stayed two nights for Winter Wonderland and a night out in London. The room was comfortable and the location good, with coffee and filtered water in reception that were a godsend. Hasim at reception looked after us brilliantly. We'll stay again.

Steffani at reception was really good, cheerful and helpful. She's the only good thing about the place. The location was good too, but that's it. The place needs a lot of work: our huge room had a very mouldy, dusty carpet, and the sheets on the two double beds made me itch, so I used one of my tops to sleep on. The bathroom was mouldy, dirty and smelled weird. Even after a tiring day walking around the city, we didn't want to go back to the room.
