St Christopher's Inn London Bridge - The Village

Ella made my first trip to London much easier. I hadn't planned it very well and wasn't sure how to get around, but she gave me useful tips on local attractions and the best transport routes. The location was convenient for exploring, and the hospitality was top-notch. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city for the first time.

I visited on 20th February 2026 around 7 PM, and reception was a real disappointment. The three receptionists seemed more interested in their phones and personal conversations than helping guests. They barely acknowledged the people standing in front of them, and showed no urgency or willingness to assist. Front desk staff set a hotel's first impression, so basic courtesy, attentive service, and professional communication matter. I didn't see any of that during my visit. I hope management takes this seriously and provides proper training and accountability, because reception service has a big effect on the guest experience.😔😔😔

The location is central and the price is dirt cheap, but saving 10 pounds isn't worth questionable living conditions. I strongly recommend thinking twice before booking, especially for a group or class trip. The rooms and bathrooms had little ventilation, and mould was growing, posing a serious health threat to guests. The hostel acknowledged the affected room was uninhabitable but couldn't provide extra accommodation. Guests affected were told to share a bed with others in occupied mixed-gender rooms, which is morally unacceptable. The room was cleaned with chlorine for the next day, but it had no window and the ventilation fan was faulty. The chlorine concentration exceeded a safe amount, and the mould wasn't completely removed. There were other problems too: hidden charging fees, unclean toilets, rules not being enforced, poor sound isolation, and generally inadequate ventilation. The conditions felt intolerable, a health risk, and close to a violation of human dignity.

The bar was a great time, and there were lots of fun Aussies working there. Holly at reception was super nice and gave us heaps of recommendations for the city. She sent over a long list of things to do on a short trip, and it was perfect for our first time in London. We had a really great stay and would definitely come back.
