The check-in itself was easy and the service was very nice. I thought it was interesting that the hotel is part of a bar. They took a £50 deposit, which we still hadn’t received back days later. I hope it comes through, though some other reviews made me wonder. There were several problems in the room. The walls are thin and the road outside is busy, so getting a good night’s sleep seems unlikely. A loud, steady beeping in the hallway went on through the night and into the morning, and we were woken up almost every hour. The shower was especially disappointing. We followed the instructions on the sign but couldn’t get any water. Other settings eventually made it run, but the water kept switching between freezing and boiling, and we couldn’t get a normal warm temperature. We tried the recommended settings several times, with no luck, so we couldn’t shower. The TV also kept muting and unmuting by itself. It’s a shame, because the place looks nice and check-in service was good. But we wouldn’t recommend it or come back.

The room was cosy, the pub downstairs was lovely, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the bar snacks and afternoon food. There’s no breakfast, but GMT cafe is only 0.2 mile or a three-minute walk down the road, with amazing breakfast options. It’s about a mile’s walk to O2, and there’s plenty of cheap parking at Westcombe Park train station, less than a five-minute walk away. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in town and need somewhere to stay.

The room price was amazing for the location, and the staff were super friendly. I stayed here for a concert at the O2 and had a fantastic time. I’d recommend it and stay again next time I’m going to the O2.

The room was clean, and the staff we met were kind, but there were too many problems to justify paying over £150 for one night. There was a £50 deposit that wasn’t clearly explained when booking. I only found out by reading other reviews, and it still hasn’t been returned. We couldn’t get the room door to lock, despite spending about 10 minutes trying, so we had to leave it unlocked while we were out. The handles and locks were loose too. Since the hotel is attached to a pub, staff were hard to find. The corridor smelled foul, and a loud beeping went on in the hallway all night. The walls were so thin that someone in the next room knocked on the wall while we were just talking at a normal volume around 11pm. The shower was odd: it had to be turned “off” to make it run, and set to cold to make it hot, though lukewarm was the best we could get. For that price, it just wasn’t worth it.

I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The pub was fantastic, and the staff were brilliant and really helpful. I’d recommend it if you’re an away fan going to Charlton.
