The Bailey's Hotel London Kensington

South Kensington is beautiful to explore, felt safe, and has good food nearby. The hotel is right across from the tube, and the location alone gets an 11/10 from me. The building is beautiful, and Rajesh was very accommodating. Our clean room was small, as is common in Europe, but had everything we needed. We came to celebrate my birthday and would definitely return. I’d called four times before arriving to ask about early check-in, sometimes waking up at 4am EST to sort it out. On the last call, someone said they’d noted the request and that we’d pay extra, which was fine with us. But when we got there, the room wasn’t ready, so we left our bags safely at the counter and went exploring until later. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The staff made this place feel homely. The front desk and concierge were welcoming, patient, and accommodating, and took time to help me choose the right room. The hotel isn’t new, but it has a warm, classic London feel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything needed, and breakfast is generous. It’s also right opposite the tube, so getting around is easy. My stay ended up feeling like home, and I’d definitely come back.

The Bailey’s is elegant and traditional, though not a big hotel. Gloucester Road tube is just across the road, with shops and restaurants nearby. Our first-floor room meant we didn’t need the lift, but the street stays busy. It didn’t keep us awake, though light sleepers might notice it. The room was so small we wondered if we’d been given a cosy double instead of a classic, and the shower room was tiny. The quality bedding was good, but the pillows stuck out of the ends of their cases. A light above the desk kept flashing, and even after we told staff five times, it was never fixed. I’d stay again, but would definitely consider booking a larger room.

This is our regular choice whenever we’re in London. Even the basic rooms are spacious, attractive, and have everything you need. The staff are friendly and exceptional. I’d definitely recommend it.
