The Bentley

We came for afternoon tea and didn’t stay at the hotel. We booked the festive Christmas menu but were served the wrong one, and the price was actually £42 pp after we’d been given a different impression. The food was average, the presentation lacking, and the tea over-brewed. Staff were nice, but seemed to need training. The hotel itself is pretty and well maintained, though it seemed to be renovating the facade. There was no atmosphere. I wouldn’t spend the money to stay there, as I’m sure that would be just as underwhelming.

The Turkish Hammam spa left me feeling incredibly relaxed and refreshed. Dinner from room service was delicious and beautifully presented, and breakfast the next morning was just as good, with plenty of tasty options. The staff were kind and helpful, always checking I had what I needed, and made the stay feel personal. The Bentley Hotel is elegant and luxurious while still feeling cozy and welcoming. The whole building and bathroom were stunning, and my room was spacious, stylish, and so comfortable. The bed felt like a cloud, one of my best nights’ sleep in ages. It’s in a great location too. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would return in a heartbeat.

The staff were nice enough, but when we were woken by aggressive knocking and someone shouting “GOOD MORNING” at 1 am, followed by more knocking and loud talking next door, they only made excuses. The manager said it was the police and they had no control, but nobody identified themselves as police. I’m pretty sure a 5 star hotel could have tried to call us before they came up to the sixth floor. The room was incredibly dated, and not in a charming way. Breakfast was edible, but a cheap diner would do better for £5, and the coffee was undrinkable. Unbelievable that this is a 5 star hotel. Would not recommend.

Just two minutes from Gloucester Road Underground Station, with the Piccadilly, District, and Circle lines, getting around London was easy. The hotel itself was breathtaking, almost like stepping into a palace, with marble details, classic paintings, and ornate architecture adding to its old-world charm. The rooms were beautifully designed, comfortable and sophisticated, and even the photos don’t do them justice. Room service arrived promptly and with care, and the food was delicious. The room amenities felt thoughtful and luxurious. Staff were warm, professional and attentive throughout. From the moment we arrived, the elegance, detail and service impressed us. We can’t wait to return.
