We spent three nights at The Brownswood, and the care from the staff is what made the stay so special. Every person we met was pleasant, attentive and good at what they do. We felt welcome throughout, and Ella looked after us as soon as we arrived, even though we were several hours early. We’d just had a long flight from Philadelphia and an hour on the tube from Heathrow, so that meant a lot. The room was beautiful, breakfast was included and a perfect start to each day, and the Sunday Roast was delicious. We also loved the bar staff and the location, with several bus lines nearby and the Tube about a 10-minute walk away. Getting to London for a few days is a big deal for us. We’ll definitely come back.

After finishing a half marathon, I came here for Sunday roast. The food was lovely, both the quality and portion, and when I asked for extra horseradish, the staff brought plenty. The service was amazing and everyone was friendly. I liked the place and its style. If I’m in the area again, I’ll be back for sure. Highly recommended.

The sticky toffee pudding didn’t impress me, but I’d definitely come back. The Sunday roast was good quality, with generous portions at a reasonable price. There’s a nice beer selection, and the bright, cosy space feels roomy. Staff are very nice too.

I stayed for a week and found the place lovely. The room was spacious, clean and fantastic overall, and even though it’s above a pub, I couldn’t hear anything from inside. The staff were kind, helpful and welcoming. There’s a park, a Sainabury's and a chemist all within a three-minute walk. I highly recommend staying here.

After an afternoon performance at the nearby Hackney Showroom, I brought a group of professional musicians here for an early evening Sunday Roast. It was just right for unwinding after the event. We all agreed the food was excellent and the portions extremely generous. The upstairs room had a perfect atmosphere, and the service was excellent too. I’d highly recommend it.
