The County

The staff were VERY friendly, and the room, though small, was fine for what we needed, just somewhere to sleep. Still, I thought I paid too much for the state of the hotel and bathrooms. The bathroom was very dirty, and from our window we could see people using the toilet on floors below. I think I'd rate it better if the price matched what you get.

For a few days in London, this cheap, basic hotel has what you need, and it's right in the city centre. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and we had no trouble communicating. I don't agree with the claims that they're rude. Cleanliness, though, needs a lot of work. There was an empty plastic bottle in our room when we arrived, and dust and a little mold in the room and shower corners. The sheets and towels were clean, but there was sometimes rubbish on the reception floor too. Old-fashioned windows made the room chilly at night, especially in winter. It's a good low-cost place to stay, but a proper deep clean would make a difference.

For a fraction of what most places charge, I got my own room in central London. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's not the Ritz, but if you just need somewhere to crash, it does the job. Suits a solo traveller who's out most of the day.

The bed was comfortable, the room was warm, and the sink in the room was enough for me since I didn't use the shower. There was soap for the sink and towels too, though the shower had no hot water. WiFi only works at reception. It's not particularly nice, but I got about what I paid for. For the price and location I'd probably stay again if all I wanted was a place to sleep.
