I booked Brama Hotel in Bromley at the last minute and ended up pleasantly surprised. My room was roomy, clean, and nicely presented, with thoughtful details like the tea and coffee station. The gold and green décor gives the hotel a stylish, high-end look. It was a comfortable, enjoyable stay, well beyond what I expected from a last-minute booking.

I was so distressed by this stay that I left early, and I wouldn't recommend bringing a dog here. I stayed for a week, and by day two I was tired of the same cold breakfast: small packaged croissants, warm orange juice, a yogurt, and a random piece of fruit. Even the butter smelled funny. Some staff were appallingly rude. We were meant to stay another week but decided to check out. A female concierge came to smell a rug stained by a dog and asked us to wait in the library while cleaners dealt with it. The library was dusty and dirty, and so was the sofa. I used a Dettol wipe on it, and it came away black with dirt and dust. I couldn't sleep because the disabled bed was right beside the urine-stained rug. There had been many dogs in the library, and the dog urine smell was overpowering. When we raised it politely, we were blamed for a long-standing smell and told the sofa and floor weren't dirty. This place isn't dog friendly: there were no welcome dog signs or water bowl, and I was told to pay an extra 50 for my small dogs for a week, even though it's free online. There was building work next door for hours. She refused to move us, and I felt disrespected. The toilet seat was loose and the toilet roll holder was coming off the wall. The place is dusty, and the reed diffusers by the entrance seem to cover the smell. I had to collect my belongings because I'm disabled, but the female concierge blocked access to the car park and made me very upset. There's nowhere to park unless you pay for a car park, and on the one-way system you can't stop to unload cases. There's no restaurant or bar, just a very basic hotel where staff weren't dog friendly and treated a polite complaint as if it were my fault. It doesn't have a happy atmosphere, and staff seem to treat cleaners as separate from the team. I offered the female concierge six cans of fizzy drink for her team, but she said she'd give them to the cleaners. No thanks, I'd offered them to her team! A kind man from another business let me in after she told them not to. It was a terrible, stressful experience. Staff smiled at first, then blamed us for other guests' mistakes.

It felt a bit like staying in an Airbnb because we hardly saw any staff and there wasn't really a reception. We booked the suite, which was beautifully decorated, and the hotel's design is lovely. There was plenty of room, but not enough storage to unpack properly, so I had to live out of my suitcase. That really wasn't necessary.

We had a wonderful staycation in the penthouse inspired Suite at @bramahotels Bromley. The kitchenette was fully equipped, there were Brama x Bramley toiletries, and we had access to a private lounge. We also enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast with wine @dorothyandmarshall, and a nice grab and go breakfast was delivered to our suite the next morning. They're now doing event planning, hosting, and catering too. Great spot for a staycation and exploring! Brama Hotels | Bromley | London

I spent almost three months at Brama Hotel while waiting for repairs to my flat, and I have nothing but good things to say. The hotel and rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and carefully designed. I also worked remotely at Clockwise sometimes, which is a lovely space to work from. There's a beautiful restaurant connected to the hotel, Dorothy & Marshall, which sometimes has Jazz nights worth checking out. The staff made me feel welcome and safe every day. Anush, Sarah, Monica, and Alistair did so much to make the stay comfortable, especially over such a long stretch. They're all amazing, and I highly recommend Brama Hotel! :)
