The Rokxy Townhouse

The room had a unique feel, and I loved my one night stay on 11 Feb - 12 Feb. The handwritten cards were a lovely extra, something I hadn’t experienced before. Amazing service. Thanks again, Matt.

I picked this for a one night business trip because it’s only a five minute walk from Kings Cross station. The Kings Suite on the lower ground floor was generously sized, with a small outdoor space, a double bed, seating area, a table for three, and a little kitchen area. The decor was excellent, and there was a large wet room. The service is what really sets the hotel apart. There are thoughtful extras they don’t have to provide, from the handwritten personal card and gift to complimentary food and drink in the room. In the morning, a tea trolley with a newspaper was waiting at the door. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Mir was a superstar, so friendly and helpful. Thanks, Mir! Communication before arrival was also excellent, through emails, texts, and WhatsApps to make sure I had what I needed, help with a personal welcome and smooth check in, and recommendations for nearby places to visit or eat. The customer service is above what you get at most hotels. Well done, Team Rokxy!

The bathroom was so small I felt claustrophobic, and ventilation was poor enough that everything got wet. The bed seemed like a small double, though we have a super king at home, so perhaps most beds would feel small to us. There were plenty of things we appreciated: a great location near Kings Cross, reasonable prices compared with other options, attentive staff, and thoughtful touches such as drinks in the fridge, a morning tea trolley, and a gift of raspberry jam. The decor was quirky and a welcome change from a standard hotel room. It had a microwave, kettle, fridge, hair dryer, a reasonably sized TV, and complimentary eye masks and ear plugs by the bed. We were in town for a West End show and wanted to avoid West End hotel prices. Would we stay again? Possibly. The staff and all those little extras meant a lot, so I’d consider it depending on the price, availability, and why we’re in London.

The staff were wonderful and welcoming. When we left this morning, Mir greeted us with a big smile, sent us on our way, and hoped we’d come back soon. We will! Beforehand, communication was impeccable, with all the right questions. We arrived before check in, but they happily took our bags and had them safely in our room when we returned. There was a fully stocked fridge, a little gift, and sandwiches waiting for us. The room had all the facilities we needed too. In the morning, a tea trolley was outside our room with two small pots of tea, a snack, and a note wishing us a lovely day. Such a nice touch. Thank you, rokxy hotel xxxx
