The location seemed perfect when we booked, but after all this I’d rather have walked. They cancelled my card a week before the stay, so I fixed it, then said they’d do it again unless I fixed it another time. I couldn’t, especially when they contacted me at 2am on the day. They made me book another room, and be careful, they’ll snatch your debit or credit card from you. In the room, check the curtains, TV remote and sheets for stains, and disinfect everything. The toilet seat moved when I sat down, and the bathroom door didn’t close all the way, so when you fall into the toilet, there’s no hiding the embarrassment. That’s only half the issues. Spend your money elsewhere.

Some of the reviews I read before booking felt exaggerated or completely untrue, so here’s my experience from three days at The house on Warwick. Reception welcomed me warmly, and the man there was polite and keen to help. Housekeeping came every day, and the staff were nice. My room was nice and well kept, with plenty of space for one bed, and the bathroom was the nicest ever, five stars from me. It could use a fridge for anything you want to keep cold. The corridors are somewhat narrow, especially if you have a huge suitcase, though the recommended flight size should fit. I’ve seen people line suitcases up by the stairs, and you’re not realistically going to roll luggage upstairs anyway. There’s no lift, and it’s about three floors, so make of that what you will. Staff are polite, you can get drinks at reception, there’s room service and TVs. The place is stunning and close to train, underground and bus stations. I’d give it four stars only because there’s no lift, and couldn’t recommend it more. Ignore the other reviews.

I paid nearly 170 Pounds a night, then the hotel refused an early check-out and any refund. The room was so filthy I can’t imagine rats wanting to live there. It was far smaller than the photos, with barely enough space to turn around and nowhere to open a suitcase. There were little particles on the sheets and yellow-brown marks on the duvet. When I asked for clean bedding, they said there was no housekeeping and told me to take the sheets and make the bed myself. The smell was horrific, like hundreds of spices mixed inside the walls. Opening the window did nothing, and when I tried the air conditioner because I was cold, the same smell came blasting out and nearly choked me. There’s no elevator, and I was expected to carry two 23kg suitcases up stairs barely 30cm wide. The front desk just said there was no lift as if that were normal. I was so angry I laughed. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, a disgrace to the word hotel, a complete scam and an absolute nightmare. Staying here would be an unbelievably stupid decision.

The online photos and information didn’t match the property’s actual condition. The service was dismissive and unprofessional when we brought up our concerns. Our room smelled unpleasant, the bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there were visible stains on the blankets, towels and carpets. Basic hygiene standards were ignored. I’d strongly advise against staying here. Absolutely not recommended.
