If you’re a light sleeper, bring good earplugs. The windows don’t block sound at all, and there’s a fair amount of noise around the hotel at all times, especially on weekends. I enjoyed the stay overall and can recommend it for a casual couple of nights in the area. I’m giving it 4 stars because the bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly for a while, and one towel had a soil stain that came off when I brushed it with my hand.

The only reason I’ve given 3 stars is the lift situation, the limited dinner choice at first, and the noise. The noise didn’t bother me personally, and you can choose a room if one is available. Otherwise, I’d have given 4. For the first 4 of my 8 nights, the only dinner option was Punjab chicken with rice and nahn bread. It was tasty, but guests shouldn’t have to rely on one dish all day, every day. After the chief changed midweek, pretty much the full menu was available. The woman running the bar cafe was helpful and welcoming throughout, and breakfast was good. The bar_cafe is clean, modern, and really good. The rooms are clean, with a few marks here and there, but it gets very noisy every night from 21.00 _ 04.00 because local clubs are right in view. The location is prime for the town centre and trains and buses into and out of London. Only 1 lift has been working for the past 8 nights. Reception is on the first floor, and you enter through a front intercom, then wait for the hotel lift, which can get slow and crowded at peak times such as check-in and out, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The stairs go about 200 from the ground floor to the 4th floor, and there are 6 floors.

The hotel’s only real downside is the noise on weekends. It’s 50 steps from a club, so it can get quite loud. The staff were lovely, which would make me likely to stay again. Nadine was wonderful at check-in and helped sort out a problem with my room. On one night, some guests were particularly loud, and staff dealt with it within 15 minutes. The hotel didn’t do much wrong.

Srinivasa and Gabs made my stay special enough that I’d happily come back. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel so welcome it honestly felt like being at home. They were kind, caring, and ready to help with anything, and their warmth and attitude made a real difference. They went beyond what I expected, and deserve to be recognized. The rest of the team was friendly and welcoming too, and everyone was polite and professional. Still, Srinivasa and Gabs stood out as the sweetest, kindest, most guest-friendly, and most helpful. People like them are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you for such amazing service!

The staff at Kingston Travelodge made us feel very welcome and really made the stay. They were kind, responsive, approachable, and happy to help. When I couldn’t work out the elevator key, one lovely woman offered to come upstairs and show me how it worked. Everyone went above and beyond, which feels rare these days. Thank you to the whole team, it was a pleasure. The hotel is cheap and cheerful, very clean, and in a fantastic spot near the station and all the amenities.
