YHA London St Pancras Hostel

I wouldn’t stay at Kabannnas. It feels like no one cares whether you have a good stay, as long as they get your money. When YHA owned the hostel, it was one of the best budget places to stay. The staff were polite, helpful, and friendly, and the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The beds and bedding were cleaner than I expected.

I booked an all-female dorm and ended up being the only one in it. The heater and nice view across the street were a plus, and the staff were friendly. I also liked the cute little café and pizzeria. The shower flooded a bit, though, and the bathroom was cramped. The lobby felt a little condensed, but that’s expected in such a busy, high-demand area. It’s a really good hostel if you need Kings Cross. The walk there was literally three or four minutes, and I enjoyed my stay.

The staff are gracious and very helpful, and they make up for a lot of the other shortcomings. There are no strange rules. The beds are very stiff and the room had peeling paint, but at that price, it’s probably the best you’ll find in London proper. The location is perfect if you’re arriving and leaving by train.

It looked good from the outside, but inside it was shocking. The room door had no lock, the metal bed and walls were grubby, and paint was peeling from the ceiling. The shower and toilet were postage-stamp small. I checked out after ten minutes and didn't even sleep there. I wouldn't let my dog stay in that room.
