The best part was the location. The service was adequate, and since check-in is self-service, we had no trouble getting into the room. Still, the room was very run down, especially the bathroom. It’s an original building that’s been converted into a hotel, and although it’s supposed to be three-star, the experience felt more like one or two stars. For a little more money, I could stay at a proper, better hotel. That’s what I’ll do next time I visit London.

It was easy to explore London from here, with Russell Square tube station a short walk away and the British Museum nearby. The room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the quiet made it easy to sleep after a busy day. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready with directions or recommendations and a smile. For a central London hotel, City Inn Russell Square is good value. I’d choose it again on my next trip.

The calm, welcoming atmosphere and comfortable, well-kept room made for a good stay at City Inn Russell Square. It’s a short walk from Russell Square Station, which is handy for getting around London, and the central location is very good value for the price. The staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help, which made things easier. I’d recommend City Inn Russell Square if you’re after a simple, comfortable stay in a great part of London.

The location is convenient, but there’s very little room to move, especially with luggage. It might work for a very short visit, though comfort is limited. For the price, it fell below what I expected.

I’ve booked train tickets and Winter Wonderland tickets, and now I have nowhere to sleep. I booked City Inn Russell Square through hotels.com on 18th october, and they cancelled my reservation today without notice, a call, or anything. When I rang, they blamed a system fault from Hotel.com. It turns out they’re overbooked. I reckon they sold my room today for a higher price and then cancelled my booking. I’m out of pocket, with only £37.90 refunded. It’s a scam, and they’re liars too. Avoid. You’ve been warned. Update after your response: This is rubbish. You don’t manage your rooms with one booking system. I booked on 18th october, and it took un 8.11.25 for the cancellation to come through. One minute after it was cancelled, I checked your website to try and rebook, and lo and behold, there was no space. I spent 6 hours yesterday on the phone to hotels.com. They wouldn’t do anything because they said the hotel had issued the cancellation due to overbooking. I’ve left two voicemails on your phone since you don’t pick up. You made the mistake, and you got the bad review because of how you handled it. I’d bet money you sold the room later for double the price. On monday morning, I’m seeking advice from citizens advice against you and hotels.com.
