Ham Yard Hotel Firmdale Hotels

My family and I choose Ham Yard Hotel every time we come to London, and we always feel genuinely looked after, especially with the children. From the warm welcome at reception to the doormen and the restaurant team, every department gives wonderful service. The food is fantastic, and the rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The whole place feels like a home away from home, with a warm atmosphere and plenty of personality. Management clearly runs things to a high standard, as everything works seamlessly. For us, it’s one of London’s best hotels.

I’ve been to this restaurant twice recently, and both meals were excellent. Even the bread, olives, and nuts we had as simple starters were among the best I’ve tried. The cheese board stood out, and the desserts were excellent too. Service was attentive and professional, and each dish was carefully prepared, with a lovely balance and presentation. The Spanish house white was smooth and easy to drink, the sort of wine I could enjoy all day.

The food was perfect, well cooked, and clearly labelled, and the servers seemed genuinely happy to be there. The room for bowling and karaoke had one patronising Asian bartender, but otherwise the staff were mostly excellent. Of the six people at reception, the busiest man was the most helpful. The atmosphere felt deliberately easygoing and fun. The cloakroom was tidy and its attendant was lovely and polite. The place was clean, the building neat, and the decor had lively colours. It was easy enough to find and had a cute exterior. Two things were negative, but apart from those it was fantastic. I’d definitely come back. Overall, 7.6/10.

I celebrated my birthday here with friends. The service was great, the teas were excellent, and the Paris Brest was exceptional. The price was fabulous too. We could enjoy the sofa without feeling rushed to give it up. Inexpensive, high quality, and decadent. What’s not to love?
