The breakfast team have always been friendly, though I can’t say much about the rest of the staff since check-in is handled by a machine. I’ve stayed here several times, and the rooms have had stains or mould on the walls each time. They were otherwise generally clean and trouble-free. This visit, I found mould behind the bathroom light switch near the electrics and another patch by the desk. There was curly men's hair on the pillow and in the bed, and the sheets felt dusty.

On my three stays, this has been a reliably good-value place: clean, comfortable, and in a handy location. The staff are genuinely welcoming and happy to help with anything. Standard rooms are perfectly fine, though the Plus rooms give you a bit more comfort if you plan to spend time relaxing there. One of my top picks for an overnight in Leeds.

The staff made this stay stand out. We ran into a couple of unrelated issues, and they went out of their way to sort things out and give us really helpful service. They also catered for someone in our group who is gluten and dairy free. I got the impression the team were naturally happy to welcome people, rather than just putting on smiles because management expects it, and that made the stay more enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with good water pressure and temperature. Premier Inn usually offers a consistent, decent experience, but the team at Whitehall road made this one feel a step above.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the town centre is an easy few minutes' walk away. The station is just as convenient, only a short walk from this clean, spacious and well-maintained modern Premier Inn. Breakfast had a good selection, and the staff were friendly.

Self check-in and having to ask reception to switch on the heating brought the service down for me. The room was cold, but the price was cheap for a budget hotel, so I’d stay again for an inexpensive overnight stop. Parking is nearby, though £25 for one night is a lot. I’d like to see cheaper parking choices. It’s an easy walk into the centre.
