The Queens

For £10, the lunchtime pie and chips were so good I could’ve eaten two. Mine had turkey, ham and leek, with red cabbage, peas and chips. I love a good pie and this one was amazing. There’s also a good range of real ales. Great pub.

We’re visitors from Leicester and new to the village, and found the pub very welcoming. We stopped for a drink and really liked the friendly staff and atmosphere. Jane the owner was especially helpful and gave us lots of tips. I’d highly recommend it to visitors.

The food was easily the best meal of our week’s holiday in Ludlow. We were lucky to get a table when six of us and our dog dropped in without booking, though we had to order quickly because a large party was expected. Dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant, so we sat in the bar. The service was spot on, quick and extremely friendly, and they brought a drink and treats for the dog too. Everything came piping hot in generous portions and tasted great. The chicken, ham and leek pie was packed with meat; the steak and lasagne were delicious as well. This short review doesn’t really do The Queens justice. I’d book ahead, as we tried to return the next day and it was full.

They gave us such a lovely welcome, and the service was really great. The restaurant was full, so with our dog we sat in the bar area. The menu was nice and the food tasty, especially the steak and pie with chips. Crumble and custard for pudding was amazing too. I’d definitely go again, thanks!
