The staff were friendly and easy to reach by WhatsApp, and each morning they brought us a complimentary breakfast basket. There was also a handy water refill station in the kitchen. Our room at The Lyme 1 Hotel was wonderfully cute, with a little table and two chairs by the window overlooking the ocean and town. It’s right in the middle of the Lyme Regis beach scene, just 20 steps from the beach entry, so the location is hard to beat. Such a lovely start to our honeymoon. Bring earplugs, though. Wherever you stay in Lyme Regis, motorists seem fond of revving loudly through the narrow streets well past midnight. We’d absolutely stay here again.

My partner would have liked something cooked as part of breakfast, though there are plenty of nice brunch spots nearby. The price is a bit high, but good value for Lyme. We slept really well in a very comfortable room, and it felt like every detail had been considered. I especially liked the Bramley products in the bathroom.

We stayed over a weekend, and from our room you could hear Saturday’s fun because Lyme 1 is so central and has beautiful sash windows. It didn’t bother us much, as the room was comfortable overall, and the quiet fan they provided helped. The smart TV was a bonus too, letting us sign into Now TV and watch the Austrian Grand Prix. Everything was impressively clean. The owners have clearly thought through how to keep this historic building working for modern guests. We had a very comfortable bed, plus a scenic window seat for breakfast from the provided hamper.

We spent three nights here in May 2025 and would happily return or recommend it. The room was spotless, the bathroom nicely appointed, and the bed was very comfortable, though the room felt a little cramped. Next time I’d ask for one at the back, since traffic and revellers can make the front noisy. The breakfast basket is a nice touch, though I missed having the choices of a dining room. On two of our three mornings the order was wrong, with the wrong juice one day and a pastry missing the next. It’s a small thing, but it matters.

The rooms are nicely decorated, with large bathrooms. There’s no cooked breakfast, but a pleasant hamper arrives each morning. Well worth a visit, and very close to local pubs and eateries.
