Travelodge Lytham St Annes

The rooms are basic but have what you need for a quick overnight stop. It's in a great spot, close to the shops and pubs and not far from the seafront. There are some nice shops and places to eat in St Anne's. The front is charming apart from a few hideous new buildings, though they do house the amusements, cinema and pool. There are 60 minutes of free parking outside for unloading, then you need to move the car. Breakfast at the Wetherspoons two minutes away was surprisingly good and very cheap.

After three nights, I'm impressed by how modern and luxurious the new design feels compared with the old-style rooms. The staff were happy to help with anything, and the cleaner on the third floor on Friday morning was especially welcoming. She stopped what she was doing for a chat, though I can't remember her name. The location is perfect. I'll choose this hotel over South Shore next time and will definitely return for the next illumination season. There was also a technical glitch that meant I was owed £10.50. Travelodge sent it straight away, and it was in my account the next morning. 5 stars.

I'm here with work Monday to Friday, and this is now my third week staying here. I'm very happy with the rooms and staff. I like the location much more than Travelodge South Shore, where I stayed before. It's a much nicer area for an evening walk. Last week I left my bank card in the room. When I came back this week, the receptionist had put it under my door. She's blonde, but I've forgotten her name. Thanks, guys. I was so pleased to get the card back after reporting it missing when I arrived. Looking forward to my next visit.

There isn't parking on site, but we used a nearby multi-storey car park and the price was decent. The first room wasn't the one we'd booked: it was a double, while we'd asked for separate beds in a family room. We went down to reception and they changed it for us without any trouble. Our room was large, clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
