The Black Horse Inn

This was our third stay at the Black Horse Inn, and it’s great how dog friendly they are. Monty had his own towel, sheet and even a couple of poo bags. Our room was clean and comfortable, with easy access outside for him. We also had dinner and breakfast, and both meals were delicious. The welcome was friendly, the service efficient, and I thought it was good value. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were very friendly, and I’d come back. I stayed one night for work and had dinner at the hotel. It was delicious, though a little pricey and over my work budget. The salmon came on a black plate in a dark room, so it was tricky to see, but I managed. The room was okay, though cold at first, and there was no bottled water. A small thing, but a shame.

We really enjoyed our first visit and will be back. It’s a beautiful pub, a bit farther out in the countryside and away from the bustle. The interior is great, and there’s a huge garden. The food was great too, especially the sandwiches and burgers.

We were welcomed right away by a pleasant staff member and offered a table even though we hadn’t booked. The seasonal menu was lovely, and the food was cooked to a really high standard. My Risotto Verde from the specials board might be the best risotto I’ve ever had. This is far beyond ordinary pub food. The waitresses were genuinely helpful and friendly, the service was faultless, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I’ve been coming to the Black Horse for over 30 years and can’t remember a bad experience. We ate there last weekend and, as usual, weren’t disappointed. It’s almost a shame to praise it so much because I’d like to keep it to myself, but it’s too good not to share. 10/10, Black Horse Inn, you’ve never let me down.
