Travelodge Manchester Central Arena

Breakfast service was amazing, with really friendly and helpful staff. The Travelodge breakfast was okay for the price. The room was clean, but the TV didn’t work and the sink had no plug. There’s a lot of noise at the moment from the high-rise construction next door. They were working on the second floor today, at the end of February 26, so I imagine it may keep being an issue for some time. The site blocks the pavement on the hotel side of the street. There are more works further down on the way to Victoria, too, so the normally quick, easy walk involves changing sides several times.

Really good value for the amount of space, especially if you’re travelling on a budget. The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. I liked being able to pay a little extra for a coffee machine, and the wall radiator was powerful enough for winter. I would’ve preferred a thicker duvet, but I’d definitely stay again.

The staff were pleasant, and the atmosphere was calm. The place was clean, tidy, compact and comfortable, and left me with a good impression. Two things surprised me, though: there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, which seems odd from a hygiene point of view, and the personal hygiene products provided were very poor quality. I hope they sort those out, as that would make the stay fully positive.

The location made it easy to get to the arena and city centre, and it was simple to find from Victoria or elsewhere. The hotel was super clean, the rooms were big, and from my fifth-floor room I couldn’t hear the building next door at all. I felt welcome from the start. The woman who checked me in was great, and so was the security man on duty. The later security man was also incredibly friendly and helpful. I had to send a print back and a woman on staff kindly gave me garbage bags to pack it, which saved me a lot of effort. Everything was perfect for me, and I’d definitely stay again.
