The hotel was spotless throughout, and I really appreciated that. Breakfast was enjoyable, especially the fresh croissants and pastries, though I wasn’t keen on the avocado and poached eggs. Service was friendly and welcoming. I slept well thanks to the comfy bed and pillows, and the room had dependable air conditioning and heating, plenty of hot water, and thoughtful extras: tea and coffee facilities, a mini fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, safe, and fun football themed toiletries. The views were lovely too. The location is excellent, a short walk to the stadium, about 15 minutes by car to Manchester Piccadilly and around 10 minutes to the Trafford Centre. One big letdown was loud music from downstairs that kept me awake until around 2am. The room also showed wear and tear that needs attention for a 4 star hotel. The décor was quite basic, and the linen and towels felt more like a 3 star standard.
The location is terrific, right next to the stadium, and the view from our room was great. The bed was super comfy, and the hospitality before and after the game was excellent. For my husband’s birthday, they decorated the 92 room, which made the occasion even more special. He’s been a Manchester United fan his whole life, but it was his first trip to see a game at Old Trafford. All the staff were attentive, accommodating and polite. We felt like VIPs the whole trip. Special thanks to Chanel for recommending that and answering all my questions before, during and after our stay. We also saw two legends at the hotel, Brian McClair and Denis Irwin, along with Alan Keegan, the voice of Old Trafford. I can’t thank Hotel Football enough for helping make my husband’s lifelong dream come true, and making it better than we expected. Absolutely a must stay!
Mohammed, the manager, took great care of us during our short stay and made us feel genuinely welcome. He’d prepared everything in advance, and surprised us with a complimentary drink card for the bar and a 10% voucher for the Old Trafford Megastore. When I lost my backpack on the train from London to Manchester, he called the train company, followed up, and did everything he could to help get it back. That rare kind of support made a stressful situation much easier. We stayed one night at Hotel Football in Manchester and had an incredible experience. Its location next to Old Trafford is unbeatable if you’re going to the stadium or the Megastore. This was honestly one of my best hotel stays and exactly why I’m loyal to the Marriott family. Highly recommended!
The rooms were roomy, and the bars and restaurants had a great buzz after the match. We came over from Paris to stay for the game, and the staff handled the busy game-day rush so smoothly. Really impressive service and a handy spot for the stadium. Would definitely recommend.
The rooftop pitch on floor H was a highlight, with footballs ready to use and fantastic views over Manchester. We went on a quiet Sunday in mid-September, so it was clean and peaceful. Our Class of 92 room on the 8th floor was spotless and nicely decorated, with robes, slippers, and a minibar stocked with two beers, two waters, two Vimto’s, and sweets. The bed was clean, and the TV had Sky Sports and BT Sport. The shower and sink drained slowly, though it barely affected our one-night stay. The fitness suite is small, but fine if you just want a casual workout. Towels, water, and two TVs with channels including Sky and BT were provided. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, including the ground-floor cafe team, who refilled our water bottles for free. Great venue and location. I’d stay again.
