The Anglesey Arms

We had a really relaxing evening with the family. The freshly made food was delicious, and the place had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were brilliant and so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Great service, and we'll definitely be back.

The restaurant was very busy, but the service stayed efficient and the food was good. They also found secure storage for our bicycles around the back. Someone else did seem to take his bike through the restaurant and up to his room, which raised a few eyebrows. Our room was large, clean and well appointed.

The cooked breakfast was really good, and the staff serving it were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Earlier, though, I waited around 10 minutes for someone to greet me at reception. Once they did, the service was really nice and friendly. The shower was a problem. It took ages for the water to warm up, and the evening shower stayed pretty cold even after five minutes with it turned as hot as it would go. In the morning it was warmer, but still not hot, and water got across the bathroom floor despite the screen being closed, so I had to put down a towel to soak it up. When I returned the key card, nobody asked how the stay had been, they just thanked me for it. I would stay again and hope the service is better next time.

We've visited the Anglesey arms for many years and love the place's new luxurious look. The food was amazing as always. My husband and I had a fabulous anniversary lunch during the open day, and David & Sean looked after us brilliantly. Thank you so much.
