Adele at reception made a great first impression. She welcomed us with a smile, was polite and helpful, and handled everything efficiently. We enjoyed her good sense of humour and respectful banter. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, though the lack of drawers made it hard to manage belongings from a suitcase. I wouldn’t want to stay more than a couple of nights for that reason. There’s free parking outside, but remember to register your vehicle at reception when you arrive. The bathroom felt cramped, and the seal behind the bath taps needs replacing because it has black mould. I also noticed grey, greasy grime around the light switches. When I first came in, there was a strong bleach smell in the lift and most of the shared areas. I’d stay again for a short visit.

We got great value for money, and I’d recommend staying here. The room was spacious and the bed super comfy. Adele on reception was friendly and easy to approach, and Christie was welcoming too. They helped with what we needed, from information to places to eat while we were out. Steph, the cleaner, was really nice as well, bringing toiletries and towels and changing the bedding at short notice. All the staff were polite and welcoming throughout the week my partner and I stayed.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and we had a comfortable, quiet night. It was good value for the overnight stay we needed. There’s a cafe/bar on site, though we didn’t try it. The hotel is about a mile from the Transporter Bridge, which we’d come to see. Many thanks.

We came back late after visiting family and found blood on the shower floor, holes at every end of the bedding, and no staff around. The number we had didn’t get an answer. We had nowhere else to go, so we had to stay. Even after entering my registration on their tablet, I was charged a £70 parking fine days later. The hotel gave me £14 back and a free breakfast for another stay after I complained, but that £14 didn’t even cover what we’d spent at the bar. We paid £24 for two gins, and the staff didn’t seem to know what they were selling. That was after a grim arrival. Marijuana smell was hanging around the front door, corridors and lift. At reception the rushed, flustered person didn’t greet us, just snapped, “have you been here a while? Can you not see there’s a number im too busy to be sat here all night”. My partner, another guest and I looked at each other in disbelief. We’d only just arrived. We got our key and walked through stained carpets to the room. This was a one night trip to see friends and family. I won’t stay at any Travelodge again. Absolutely appalling. If you’re staying in Middlesbrough, don’t book this hotel.
