Premier Inn Middlesbrough Town Centre

The bathroom was bright and clean, and the bed was comfortable. There are paid parking options just behind the hotel, which is handy. Check-in went smoothly, the room was clean, and the building looks good. It’s near another hotel with a gym. For a Premier Inn, this is one of the best I’ve stayed at so far.

The location was fine, but the windows don’t open, and a fan kept circulating air all night. If noise bothers you, this may not be the hotel for you. Staff have to cover both reception and the restaurant, which isn’t ideal when the self check-in machines are out of order.

The room was up to standard, with a few extra touches, and I slept very well. I did notice a slight running sound from the AC during the night, even though mine was off. I assume it was coming from another room or the wind. It wasn’t too bothersome, but I could hear it when I woke up. At breakfast, the male staff member who’d served me the previous evening greeted me again and was very attentive. He showed me where everything was and went to check the answer when he didn’t know about a food item. The food and drink selection was excellent. Dinner was good too, though I wish there’d been more vegetarian options. Both staff members made sure I had what I needed and helped make the visit pleasant. I stayed from Monday 27th October until Tuesday 28th October 2025. After a long journey, I arrived to find no one at the desk and all the self check-in machines out of order. Other guests said they’d already been waiting a few minutes, and I thought it was just another basic hotel with no customer service. When the receptionist came back, she apologised sincerely and explained she’d been dealing with an emergency. She apologised again while checking me in, then clearly explained what was available and the times I could use it. Check-out was simple. I’d definitely come back and recommend the hotel. The stay was pleasant apart from a couple of service issues. We were told at 6pm that we didn’t need to book a table, but when we went down at 7 for a quick meal before an 8pm show, there was only one chef and the wait was an hour. Reception and the restaurant need to communicate better. The breakfast area also wasn’t well stocked in the morning.
