For a pub chain, Green King, the hotel was perfectly adequate. I was impressed by how spacious the room and bathroom were, especially with a bathtub, and it was handy having food and drink available from the pub. The food was fine, although two menu choices weren’t available when I visited. The bed was the main problem for me. I have a lower back issue, and the very soft mattress left my back in terrible shape when I woke up. Breakfast didn’t help the mood: the woman serving it seemed a little grumpy and told me to hurry because they were stopping breakfast. Not what I wanted to hear after a poor night’s sleep.

The reception lad gave fantastic service, especially since we checked in late. The location is great and the rooms are comfortable. I’ll stay here again when I’m back.
