Breakfast was nice and tasty, the usual Premier inn offering, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, near the town centre, with lots of nearby shops and a petrol station right next door. The beach is within walking distance too. One drawback is the extra parking charge, though it was clearly stated, and the self check-in machine was out of order. I'd definitely recommend it.

14/12/25. This was genuinely one of the worst Premier Inns I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot. We arrived at about 7 PM after five hours of travel, the day before our Butlin's holiday. There was nobody at reception at first. After a few minutes, a man called Justin came out. No hello, no smile, no real interaction. He went straight to the computer, asked only for my surname, and handed over the key. We'd booked a twin room for three adults, all 23. I'd never booked for three before and thought it was allowed. When he asked if we were all staying in the room and we said yes, he told us we couldn't, without explaining why. He then took the key back and said we couldn't stay until we'd booked another room. The hotel was half empty, but I had to pay another £52 on the spot. He made me do it on the app, without offering help finding a better price or putting it through on his system. He stood silently at the computer until I finished. Once I'd booked, he explained that the rule was there because they couldn't determine whether we'd have eight people in the room. It was clearly just the three of us for one night. I'm not especially upset about the policy itself, but he was rude, with no customer service or effort to make our stay feel better. By then I didn't even want to be there, but I'd just paid the £7 parking fee, which felt absurd. It was my first time being charged for parking at a Premier Inn, and the car park was half empty. The shower pressure was very weak, there was a hole in the wall leading to the bathroom, and the room smelled a bit strange. My friend's other room was fine, so perhaps it was just my unlucky day. At 8:30 PM we tried to get food at the Brewers Fayre next door. Online it said it closed at 10:30 on Sundays, but when we arrived they said they were closing in half an hour, so we'd have to hurry. We decided to leave it. Their customer service and professionalism were much better, and the woman was lovely. The hours online were wrong, but she still managed to put a smile on my face after the Premier Inn experience.

A standard Premier Inn room. The shower was great, the TV let me cast to it, and it was nice and quiet. The heating didn't work at any setting and only blew cold air. The Wi-Fi was pants, and I swear it's patchy on purpose so they can squeeze more money out of you for the ultimate Wi-Fi add-on. Dinner choices were nice, but breakfast was disappointing. It was plated service, so I expected a hot cooked breakfast, but everything was lukewarm at best except the black pudding, which was actually steaming.

I stayed three nights and found the hotel much as expected for a Premier Inn. The beds were proper singles rather than a double and couch, the place was clean and tidy, everything seemed to work, and I slept quietly. The staff were good. Like everyone else, I had trouble with the room cards not always working. You can tell when one fails because it won't open the lift, so there's no point trying your room. The Brewers Fayre was a different story. The staff were great, but Whitbread must treat them like dirt. They were always short-staffed, which led to delays and problems. One night they ran out of glasses. The team worked hard to keep it going, but at times it was touch and go. The food was as expected, fried or grilled. There are discounts around if you look or have a BLC, and the meal deal would be cheap. The car park felt like the biggest rip-off: it's a mile out of town, so who else would park there? £7 doesn't seem fair. The Wi-Fi was worthless. I never got internet once.
