The building's decor shows its age, with some wear and tear, and it could do with a little refurbishment. Even so, we felt it was very good value and really enjoyed our stay. We were there for a night just before Christmas in a double room, with a huge bay window looking over Morecambe bay. We got a friendly welcome, and the room had tea and coffee facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was great, and complimentary products were provided. Everything was very clean, the Wi-Fi was great, and breakfast was plentiful and very good. Thanks for fitting us in at short notice. We'd definitely return.

We found the accommodation very cheap, with a great price and location, and reasonably comfortable rooms. Breakfast was nice and included in the price. The seafront view was great even in late November, though the waterline is so far from shore you might need binoculars to see it. There are lots of nice places to explore by car from the city once you've had enough beach time, including Windermere, the UK's largest lake, which is very picturesque and lovely to see.

The staff are lovely and clearly doing their best, but this place is nowhere near a 3 star hotel. The photos show how seriously run down it is. My room was clean in the broader sense, though I did find broken class on the bathroom floor, and there was zero soundproofing anywhere. I won't stay again. I'll pay double and go to The Midland instead, as there's no comparison.

We had a lovely time at the clifton and will definitely go back. The room was comfortable, especially the bed, and we had no problems with anything. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the breakfast.

The hotel was a pleasant place to stay, with a fresh, clean room, a very comfortable bed, a decent sized TV and good tea and coffee facilities. The staff members I met were all welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet with plenty of hot and cold choices; the gentleman serving toast and hot drinks was especially attentive. It's right on the prom, easy to reach by public transport, and makes a good base for Morecambe, Heysham, Lancaster or a trip out to the lakes.
