The Dell Of Abernethy

We enjoyed the outdoor setting, with nature right nearby and plenty of peace and quiet. Our New Year stay at Dell of Abernethy was in Dell Cottage, as part of a family group. Having our own cottages with connecting doors worked so well for everyone, from ages 7 to 70. We've stayed in lots of large houses together, but this arrangement made the experience unique. Ross, Polly, and all the staff we met were so helpful. We enjoyed it enough to book another stay already.

We stayed in West Dell cottage, which was beautiful and cosy, and the location put epic trails right on the doorstep. Dell Grocer was a lovely extra, with a great selection of quality local produce. Ross, Polly, and the whole team were so welcoming and helpful, even digging our cars out of the snow on the day we had to leave. We've often stayed in self-catered places in the Cairngorms managed by third parties, and this one was a breath of fresh air, full of comfort, charm, style, and personality, with a real home-from-home feel. It was a magical place to welcome the new year. Can't recommend it enough, and can't wait to return.

We felt a world away from everything, with beautiful scenery and lovely walks in Nethy forest and further afield starting right from the door. We stayed in Dell lodge for a brilliant week. It was homely, cosy, and full of charm, with a well-stocked kitchen and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The dell grocer on site was a nice treat too, whether for homemade granola or a bottle of wine. The staff were friendly and keen to help, keeping the busy bird feeders topped up, stacking the log piles, and even helping dig our cars out of the snow. Can't wait to return, thanks for such a great week!

We got a short-notice break here at the end of August, and Little Dell was just right for us as a couple with a dog. Its little garden was even better than we'd expected from the website details. The location is so peaceful and ideal for walks in the surrounding forests. Ross, Polly, Dawn, and the whole team were really friendly and helpful, and the on-site deli and coffees were great. We'll definitely come back when we can!
