Travelodge Newbury Tot Hill

The family room was quiet, clean and spacious, and the reception team were friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight to split up the drive to the South coast. Exceptional value for money.

I slept really well, the beds were very comfortable. The front desk was helpful, and the room, toilet and other areas were all tidy and spotless. My whole experience was spot on. I'll definitely recommend it to family, friends and work colleagues.

The location worked well, with easy access from the main route, plenty of parking and nearby amenities including Starbucks, McDonald's and a petrol station. The man on reception in the morning was pleasant and helpful. On arrival, though, the woman at the desk came across as narky, which wasn't welcome after a full day travelling through peak holiday traffic from Cornwall. Our room was basic and clean, as expected, but there was no towel to use as a shower mat and we had to ask for toilet paper because there was barely any left. We also paid £7 for WiFi for two people, and it kept dropping out.

There isn't a cooked breakfast, but the breakfast box to go had cornflakes with a bowl and spoon and milk, a small bottle of water, a pain au chocolat and an oat flapjack. Starbucks is next door, McDonald's is a short walk away, and there's ample parking. The place was very clean and quiet, and the staff were helpful.
