The staff were pleasant and the room was nice, but I won’t be going back because the food let the stay down. It was overpriced, poor quality, and took a long time to arrive. On my second night I was happier with a couple of Tesco meal deals. The website should make it clear that food has to be booked ahead. Two people were turned away from breakfast for not booking, and I was lucky to get an evening meal at all, though I had to wait for it. Better food would have earned five stars.

The staff are lovely, and this was one of the better Premier Inns I’ve stayed at. My stay was generally fine. These small niggles seem to apply to the chain more widely, though: it feels like they’re penny-pinching. There was no water in the room, while a bottle from the vending machine cost £3. Parking on site was another £3. The restaurant food was acceptable but close to premium prices, and staff seemed trained to push the meal deal whenever they could. In the bathroom, there were rest-stop tissue tickets instead of toilet roll. A few little changes wouldn’t cost much and would make things nicer.

Our room was clean and quiet, and the food was good. But the ladies who work here really made a difference. They looked after us so well and gave us excellent customer service. Tammi even helped with our flat tyre, despite having had a horrible day herself, and was still smiling. We really appreciated all your help, thank you!

On Sunday the 8th of March, the staff at breakfast were so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, Tammie, Dina and Sri, for looking after us so well x

Breakfast was very good, and the service was good too. The downside was being charged the overnight parking rate. Since the hotel is out of town on a retail park, I honestly don’t see why there’s a charge at all.
