Premier Inn Newcastle Under Lyme

The food was brilliant, fresh and tasty, and came with a smile. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere felt welcoming. We’d think about staying again, though I’d hope for a room without the smoke smell and with a more secure door. The room smelled noticeably of smoke, which was disappointing when we expected it to feel fresh and clean. There was no deadlock, either. With our curious 3-year-old, I worried she might wander out, so I wedged a chair against the door.

The room had a really overpowering, Dettol-like smell at times. There was just one USB socket, and it only worked with the TV switched on. It was a wet, windy night, but I was kept awake by a repeated slapping sound against the wall, like a loose cable.

Our rooms weren’t ready when we arrived, but Tommy was welcoming and accommodating, and the staff were attentive and super friendly throughout. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights and enjoyed every dish. The room itself was pretty standard, but the people made the stay very pleasant. I’d recommend it.

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the rooms were clean and nicely presented. Our family room felt a little smaller than expected for two adults and two children. The Brewers fayre attached to the hotel served good food, with great service at breakfast and dinner.
