Britannia Newcastle Airport

The location is ideal, just a five-minute walk from the terminal. The evening meal was lovely and good value, but breakfast was plentiful and completely cold. I told the staff and got no response at all. The room was dirty and worn and needs work. The bathroom was hairy, and the bed was awful.

For £50 a night, it's hard to complain about the location, right by the airport. The room was dated but clean and tidy, so it worked well for a night before a flight. When we were there it was mostly pensioners, which made for a quiet stay. The staff were alright too. The food was pretty awful and overpriced, though the portions were generous. The chicken burger had grill marks, but it tasted like a century's worth of burnt food rather than a nice char. I could barely taste anything else.

We left the car parked for two weeks and stayed at the hotel after a late return flight. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. I paid separately for breakfast, and it was very nice. Maxine was helpful and showed us where everything was. She also has a lovely singing voice. There was juice, cereal, toast, pastries, and a full English with black pudding, plus plenty of tea, coffee, fruit, and yoghurt. Being so close to the airport makes it a great way to start and finish a holiday.

My partner and I spent one night here because we wanted to visit Newcastle, and the location across from the airport made it convenient and affordable. At £50 a night, the price was reasonable. The rooms are dated, but they were clean, which was enough since we mainly needed a place to sleep. The staff were lovely and friendly, and check-in was quick. I can't fault the hotel.
