The meal in the evening and breakfast were both decent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was exhausted after finishing my walk along Hadrian's Wall path, so the busy check-in being quick and efficient was a relief. The hotel is almost under the Tyne Bridge, and the restaurant looks out over the River Tyne. The room was what you'd expect from a Premier Inn, though this one is in an older building. It's close to bars and the windows are old, so if you're too tired to join Newcastle's nightlife, I'd bring earplugs.

The location worked perfectly for getting to the quayside walk, the bridges and the city centre. After a long bike ride we were allowed to check in early, and the man on reception was really helpful. He gave us a spacious room where we could keep our bikes too. It looked like the room had been newly refurbished.

Breakfast staff were great, and I'd definitely stay here again. The location is superb, and some rooms have some of Newcastle's best views if you get the right one. The shared areas and rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, though. When we went to buy a drink, the tills were down and they didn't offer to let us pay later, so they lost our custom.

The quayside location was perfect, the rooms were clean and breakfast had a great selection. Room 130 was noisy because of the bar, but the team quickly sorted it out by moving me and my family to room 325, with no fuss. The staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. We had a great stay at Premier Inn Quayside and would highly recommend it.

For a short stay, I think it's fine for the price, and the location is handy for the centre. The rooms are basic, there's no air conditioning, and the main light in ours wasn't working.
