I couldn't stay in either of the first two rooms because they were filthy. There were hairs on the beds, stained bedding, what looked like faecal matter on a chair, and black mould in the shower. I ended up booking a Premier Inn for the same price just to have somewhere clean and usable. The staff at Travelodge Newquay said they couldn't do anything and gave me several phone numbers. Only one worked. When I finally got through, I was told the hotel staff should have escalated it, but they hadn't. I was left without support after raising serious hygiene issues. Travelodge later accepted that the rooms hadn't been cleaned properly, but first refused a refund on the basis of the Saver rate terms. After I kept escalating and involved my bank, they gave me a partial refund. I'm still pursuing a full refund for accommodation I couldn't use. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and I'm shocked it's associated with the Travelodge brand. In a seaside town that depends on tourism, this standard is unacceptable. I'd advise booking elsewhere unless you're prepared for dirty rooms, poor management, and staff unwilling to take responsibility.

We had a pleasant two-day stay and will book again. The room smelled clean and was tidy, with clean bedding and towels and a clean bathroom. The TV and phone both worked. The stairs, lifts, corridors and entrance were clean and clear. Reception staff were professional and helpful, and offered tea, coffee, milk, sugar and condiments. We did wait about 10 minutes for someone to reach the desk, as the staff member was alone and handling several things. They have online booking, and it seems they may not accept walk-ins. They offer hot meals, but we didn't eat there, so I can't comment on that. Thanks, Travelodge Newquay.

We had a decent sea view, though the windows were extremely dirty. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and definitely won't stay again. We arrived early on Saturday (24/1/26) for a night away and asked about checking in early. After waiting 20 minutes for a receptionist, who was lovely, we were told it would cost £20. We waited until 2pm instead, which left us walking around with our luggage for almost two hours. Our family room had a double bed and a single that was barely big enough for a child, so my friend and I shared the double. There were hairs and holes on the bedding. The room was very poorly cleaned, with hairs around the sink and shower, a soaking wet shower, and stained bedding. The heating went down or switched off while we were out, so the room was often very cold. There were only a few clothes hangers, leaving our things on the floor. The mirror didn't line up with the desk, the bathroom door had no lock, and the tiny TV barely worked unless we watched children's channels. There was just one plug socket for the room, plus USB sockets by the bed. Turning on the light meant using two switches on opposite sides of the room. We went downstairs three times that evening for food and other things, but nobody was at reception, so we couldn't complain. At checkout the next morning, a very rude receptionist said we should have complained the night before, even after we explained that nobody had been there. I later called the number in my booking email and got another rude, unhelpful woman, who told me to complain online and then hung up.

The room smelled and the carpet was dirty, and a staff member came in without knocking while we were staying there. We also waited 20 minutes for cooked breakfast on each of two consecutive days. The location and views are great, but even by Travelodge standards this is a poor hotel. One to avoid!

The breakfast buffet was really nice and worth the price. There was plenty to do nearby, with Aldi right next door, a pharmacy about a five-minute walk away, and the Walkabout 10-12 minutes away, good for watching football. Newquay is a lovely place to visit. My husband and I came from London for our honeymoon, and all the staff were super friendly. The hotel has fantastic views, a great location, and was fantastic.
