The blue room felt like stepping back in time, and we really enjoyed our stay in this charming family home. Catherine, whose gt grandfather built the house, was a very welcoming host. Breakfast was freshly cooked at home and a real treat. I was glad to hear much of it comes from good local sources, with fruit from the walled garden on site. We’d love to return and see more of the local area, forest parks, and mountains. Thanks, Catherine, for a lovely stay.

Catherine gave us a full tour of her home, function barn, and walled garden on the morning we left. She’s a wonderful host, and breakfast was amazing, with most ingredients sourced locally, including from the garden. We spent three nights at Kiltariff Hall towards the end of July. I’m originally from the area and knew the beautiful house and surroundings. It’s spotlessly clean, full of old furniture and trinkets, and even has an honesty bar in the drawing room. The bedroom had everything we needed. We’ll definitely return. Thank you, Catherine.

Catherine was so welcoming and even booked us a table at a great local restaurant. The next morning we enjoyed a home cooked Ulster fry. We stayed for a wonderful night in the spacious blue room, with its king size bed, lovely decor, en suite, and all the modern conveniences. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the house is full of character. We’d highly recommend it as a base for the beautiful scenery nearby or a visit to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, which we really enjoyed too.

Kiltarrif Hall is a lovely old fashioned B&B in a beautiful home. Catherine was warm and generous, and for the two nights I was there, it felt like staying with family. My room was large, the bathroom warm and cosy, and I could use the formal lounge and dining room for breakfast. Rathfriland was well placed for visiting lots of stunning spots, and it was a nice walk from the Hall into town for a local meal. I could happily have stayed longer.

Catherine was the best part of our visit, such a kind, friendly host who suggested things to do that day and welcomed us in the morning with an amazing breakfast. The house itself is a peaceful 19th century piece of history, with an amazingly spacious bedroom. The bathroom has been fully refurbished but still keeps an antique look that suits the place. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s worth taking a detour on your way to Belfast.
