Mourne Country Hotel

I travelled to Newry and found the B&B I’d booked totally unsuitable and unsafe, so I took a room here instead. The staff were very helpful and arranged taxis for me. Breakfast was lovely too. When I was leaving, I’d forgotten my stick, but the concierge fetched it for me. I’d definitely recommend this place and will use it again.

The location worked really well for the pitch and putt event we were attending. The rooms were comfortable, and the receptionist was helpful. The bar was very quiet and shut around 11pm on Saturday, which seemed strange. In the morning I walked into the huge breakfast room and wondered if I had the wrong place, since we were the only ones there. It was silent, with no background music. I can’t recall the breakfast lady’s name, but she was attentive, funny, and great to chat with, and made our group feel welcome. The food was good and there was an excellent buffet selection. A decent stay overall, and I’d return.

Whenever I visit Newry, this is my favourite hotel to stay in. I’ve been back several times, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are pristine and the food is fab. Can’t wait for my next visit.

The food was lovely, and I loved the location. Staff were lovely too. There was quite a bit of dust, maybe from the curtains, but still a great experience. I’ll visit again.
