The menu was such a fun change from the usual restaurant choices, and trying beef wellington for the first time was a treat. Everything we ate was delicious. The inn is beautiful and full of charm, and our waitress, I think her name was lolz?, was incredible. I hope the owner lets her know what a credit she is to the business. We live in Devon and like exploring new places, so this was our first visit here. A 10/10 for us, and we’ll be back to try more of the menu. Thanks for such a lovely experience x

There was a decent range of interesting vegetarian dishes, which is often missing from pub menus, and the rest of the menu looked good too. We had a lovely evening with friends in a warm, welcoming setting. The food was great, the meal was very good value, and we’d definitely recommend it.

The quiet, cosy feel was a lovely way to wind down after a very loud day at the races. The Cridford Inn is about 15 minutes by taxi from Exeter racecourse, though the little narrow lanes on the way there might look daunting. We’d come down from the Cotswolds that morning and arrived early, with an hour to wait for our taxi. The owner kindly let us come in for coffee. After we got back, check-in was quick and we were shown to a beautiful, extremely clean room with a very comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, and we slept well before a superb breakfast that set us up for the day. The owner also gave us a brief history of this amazing old building. I’ll certainly return.

The vegetables were a real highlight, properly seasoned roasted veg and fresh greens, not the boiled-to-death kind you often get in pubs. The beef was cooked perfectly pink and tasted absolutely gorgeous. You might find a roast a couple of quid cheaper at other local pubs, but the quality here makes the extra spend worthwhile. A very, very tasty Sunday lunch, and the best pub beef I’ve ever had. Worth every penny!

We had breakfast and dinner on both days of our two-night stay, and the choice of dishes impressed us. The rooms we stayed in, The Warren and the Burrow, were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Even this time of year, the surrounding countryside and beaches are stunning. As returning customers, we found the warm welcome, cosy atmosphere and delicious meals just as good as we’ve come to expect. Thanks, Cridford, for a great time. We’ll definitely be back.
