The room had plenty of space, a large bed, and two windows looking out over the river. Breakfast was lovely too, and the staff made the stay a pleasant experience.

The staff were wonderfully patient with my four children, which made what could have been a chaotic stay much easier. It’s close to town, and the breakfast was cracking. I had a brilliant visit and thought it was good value for money.

The River Severn running through Newtown is absolutely beautiful. It’s a lovely little market town, with farm-fresh produce and very good ales and food. It feels quite different from London and city life.

Breakfast was excellent, and the beer was good. The staff were friendly, though one had a slightly eccentric manner, nothing to worry about. The layout of The Elephant and Castle Hotel is a bit quirky, and I found the room pricey. Maybe £150 for a twin room is normal in this part of Wales in summer. I’d stay again.
