You can walk for miles along the coast from this well-positioned park, with Knightley's funfair a short stroll away on the coastal path. Nearby Rhyl, Towyn and Prestatyn also have plenty to do. There are shops, including an Asda supermarket, and a Costa Coffee a short drive away in the retail park. The park has a swimming pool, launderette, big play area and arcade, while the clubhouse serves reasonably priced food, including vegan options. Its entertainment includes silent discos and phone quizzes as well as bingo and singers. This is a family-friendly place, but not a good fit if you want peace and quiet. At busy times there can be noise at all hours, from car doors slamming, loud arguments, children shouting and running around inside caravans. That sound carries, and after a few hours it gets annoying. It’s much quieter out of season, when the coastal walks are especially enjoyable. Getting in and out can be frustrating: the road into the park is narrow and just off a busy junction, and there’s only one barrier for both entry and exit, which causes congestion. I also disagree with the park’s 'do not feed the seagulls' stance. These are red-listed birds, and people have overfished for decades and taken away their natural habitat. We should help them where we can. People make more mess, leave more rubbish and make more noise than a seagull trying to survive. If you have a large, noisy family, this park could suit you; please be kind to the seagulls.

We only lasted one night before booking elsewhere to finish our holiday. The caravan was dusty, the floor turned our socks black, there was no parking beside it, and all we could hear was the fairground music. In the rush to leave, we accidentally left our son’s bottles in the microwave after sterilising them. I emailed customer service to ask if they could post them back, but have heard nothing. That says a lot about the service and attitude here. We’d booked a Monday to Friday break the week before the Easter holidays through Sun Holidays, with an 8-month-old and a 2.5-year-old. We weren’t told it was low season. When activity bookings opened, there was nothing available for our dates. I emailed to ask why and was told to call the site, but nobody answered. The site was almost deserted when we arrived. While waiting for the caravan, we took the advertised coastal walk, but the area was dirty, with blood on the ground by the fairground. We didn’t feel comfortable letting our toddler walk around there. Back at the site, we waited in the arcades. Half were sectioned off, there wasn’t a stool for our toddler to reach the machines, and there wasn’t much for younger children. When I collected the keys, I asked about entertainment and was told there was none because it was low season. So why were we charged for entertainment passes? Such a con. I’d avoid this place if you want a nice family holiday.

We spent three nights here from 20th March. The on-site chippy was absolutely spot on. We’d originally booked a chalet, but my wife didn’t find the room comfortable. Nothing was actually wrong with it, so we went to reception to ask about an upgrade. The staff were helpful and willing to sort something out, and even though the site was virtually full, they found us a well-equipped caravan instead.

We had a lovely weekend with friends and our baby, and would happily return for another short stay. The site is small but had what we needed, with the beach close by and a supermarket just a short walk away. There was apparently a problem with the caravan we’d booked, so we were moved to a bigger one on arrival. The staff were all really friendly.

The caravan itself was really pleasant, and the kids’ activities were okay. The staff were accommodating when we raised our concerns, so credit to them. But the food was overpriced and came cold. There were hidden chillies in the wraps, the pizza was 60% crust, and the kids’ burgers would have given Jamie Oliver a heart attack. Best to avoid eating here. As for the park, it’s what you’d expect from a British caravan park: people drinking cider at breakfast and walking around with cans, dog poo on the promenade, and arcades everywhere.
