Cobo Bay Hotel

We had a small room, but it was comfortable, and we’d choose a sea view next time. This family-run boutique hotel has a terrific location, right opposite a lovely sandy beach. Everyone on staff was welcoming, helpful, and knew the area well.

Cobo Bay worked out really well for a beach break. The beach is just across the road and easy to reach, though the busy street and construction nearby mean it isn’t a quiet spot. We liked eating on the terrace, where a barrier keeps the restaurant from feeling right beside the traffic. Getting around Guernsey without a car took a bit more planning. Buses to other parts of the island usually meant going into St Peters Port first, and tours seemed to leave from the opposite side. There’s a stop outside the hotel and at least three more within an easy walk, so it’s doable, just not the most convenient for exploring. The staff were extremely kind. They upgraded our booking at check-in, and when I needed to shift my dates, they were flexible because I’d booked directly. The room was clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom, although the bed was firmer than I prefer. The restaurant was lovely and breakfast was fantastic every morning.

The views at Cobo Bay were incredible, and we were lucky enough with the weather to go for morning swims. We stayed four nights with friends over the balcony gig weekend, our first time at the hotel, and had such a good visit that we’ve already booked for next year. Everyone from front of house and housekeeping to the bar and waiting staff was warm, professional, and happy to help. The breakfasts and lunches were freshly made and really delicious. It was also our friend's first trip to Guernsey, and staying here added a lot to his first impression of the island and what it has to offer. Thanks, Cobo Bay. See you next year.

Even with the wet, windy weather, we had a good view of the sea from our window table at Cobo bay hotel. The serving staff were polite, friendly, and quick. I had the monkfish char Sui, which was lovely and just the right portion. Two people with us chose the trio of fish and chips and really enjoyed it, and the tiramisu and cheesecake were good too. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu. We’d definitely return for lunch or dinner.
