The staff are lovely and helpful, and the room was clean and pleasant, with tea and coffee sachets plus shower and hair wash. But I’m writing this at 4am on a Saturday after going to bed around 11 and waking at 3. Music from a club across the street is thumping so loudly I can’t get back to sleep. I’m guessing it carries on until 6. Good luck if you’re a light sleeper. Weekdays might be fine.

The room had plenty of space, a big TV, a hot shower and enough power points, and the location was great. I couldn’t get comfortable on the very hard bed, though maybe that’s just my preference. What really bothered me was the bathroom, which smelled awful of stale urine. I can’t understand how housekeeping thought that was okay. The full English breakfast was stone cold, and £12.50 felt steep for it.

The location was convenient and the staff were friendly, but the room needed a better clean. It was very dusty and the curtains had stains. You could hear every sound in the corridor, even someone walking or running, as if they were in the room. My window was broken too. Maintenance helped lock it so I wouldn’t get cold, but then I couldn’t open it for fresh air.

Good location, friendly staff, clean, and cheap and cheerful. It’s a two-star hotel, so it could be worse. Still, that may have been the worst bed I’ve ever slept on. The pillow was practically nonexistent. I’ve never felt so high up in a bed and so low at the same time. The TV didn’t work properly either.
