We've stayed at this lovely hotel several times with our two dogs. They're very dog friendly, with bowls, towels and treats waiting in the room. The rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable, the traditional food is excellent and tasty, and the staff are always friendly and happy to stop for a chat. Nothing is too much trouble. A huge thank you to Sharon, who managed the full service and breakfast by herself on our last day when snow kept the other staff from getting to work. We'll be back.

A great find for anyone looking for a dog-friendly hotel around Amble or Warkworth. It's in the historic town of Warkworth, Northumberland, a lovely little place with a castle and plenty of amenities. We found most guests had brought pets, and dogs are allowed throughout the hotel, which was really helpful. Staff were very helpful, and the bar was well stocked. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, with a varied menu we enjoyed. There are easy walks down to a lovely river and a beach within walking distance for active people, or five minutes by car; other beaches are about 15 minutes away. The rear car park is small, but there's a large one in the Square a minute's walk away. It's not five-star, but the service makes up for any little shortcomings. Well worth a visit.

We had room 2, which was large and came with a big TV. It's a lovely hotel with great staff, and I appreciated being able to help myself to proper milk for the in-room tea and coffee instead of that horrible UHT stuff. Shame we had to leave early, but we'll be back.

We stayed in January 2026, and this is such a lovely hotel with really pleasant, hard-working staff. We had no negatives apart from the room being too hot, though we managed to turn the radiator down. A perfect place to stay.

Our group arrived on three big motorcycles, and there was plenty of room for our gear. They parked securely, and the area was quiet enough that sleeping with the window open was easy. Dinner was delicious, proper good food, and the staff were lovely and helpful throughout. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel had character. I loved that it's an independent family-run place rather than a big chain. The food was fabulous and everything was just right. Highly recommend.
