It’s a period house, with everything that comes with that, and that’s part of its charm. For the price, it’s excellent. There’s a quiet, restful seating spot at the bottom of the garden overlooking the river.

A lovely location, but truly awful people. I didn’t think I’d ever come across owners so aggressive, but there they are at Riverside House. Caveat emptor, buyer beware, has never felt more apt.

The host was friendly, the rooms were clean, and there’s good Wi-Fi, with shops, pubs, and the town close by. It’s a cute little private house with a view, and the continental breakfast was decent. The bathrooms need modernising. The cottage could use more electrical outlets and clearer signs, as it would be easy to miss. There were no hot chocolate sachets, and individually packed jam would be better for hygiene. The bathroom radiator was dusty and had cobwebs, and the bed was too soft and springy.

The owners are very accommodating, and they make me feel at home. The staff are enthusiastic, and the bedrooms are just right for getting some rest. One of the best places to stay in Norwich.

James is so polite and really caring, and the breakfast selection was very big and included. Honestly, this is one of the best places I’ve stayed in for a long time. Don’t let the photos put you off or make you think it isn’t worth the money, it’s been worth every penny. I’ll definitely stay again and recommend it to everyone I know.
