The Bingham Townhouse

I’ve stayed here several times and am happy to keep coming back. It’s better value than a hotel chain. The staff are friendly, the location is good, parking is plentiful, and breakfast is really good. My room, number 14, was small but comfortable, and the main-street noise didn’t bother me. The bathroom could use an update, though it was perfectly fine for a few nights. The attached Chinese restaurant looks good, but I haven’t tried it yet. Maybe next time.

Bingham is a lovely little town with pleasant shops, and I always enjoy visiting. The Bingham Townhouse Hotel has been a pleasure to stay at every time. From my first phone call to book, the staff have been polite and lovely. The rooms are warm and comfortable, and breakfast is excellent, served in a relaxed setting where nothing feels rushed. Nigel, the owner, is often around and very pleasant to talk to. I recommend staying here; you won’t be disappointed.

Breakfast was a fantastic spread, both continental and cooked, with locally sourced sausages and bacon and perfectly poached eggs. I also appreciated the electric charger in the car park. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and I had an excellent stay at The Bingham Hotel in the delightful village of Bingham. The owners have put a lot of care into its distinctive design, and my room was lovely, very clean, and had all the amenities I needed, including ironing facilities. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, which might be tricky for some, so check with the hotel if that matters to you. The water was warm and the pressure was good. I understand the owner is continually upgrading the place, and it shows. I hadn’t realised the restaurant served Thai food, which is my favourite; it looked fantastic, so maybe next time. There’s a lift to the first floor, but avoid the top floor if you have serious mobility issues.

The Cantonese food in the restaurant was some of the best I’ve had, and it was busy even on a Sunday night. The restaurant staff were excellent too. At the hotel, we got a warm welcome and the team looked after us throughout. We’d had a misunderstanding about the cot before arriving, but Nigel sorted it out for us, which we really appreciated. You can see the hard work and dedication that’s gone into the place. If I’m being picky, parts of the room looked a little dated and the Wi-Fi wasn’t great, but neither would put us off returning. The water machine just outside our room was a lovely touch. If we’re in the area again, we’d gladly stay, if you’ll have us. Thanks for a wonderful visit.
