The Elmsleigh Suite At Claremont Hotel

The parking was very good, and the rooms were warm with plenty of hot water. We stayed two nights but had to switch rooms because the first one wasn't available for both nights, which was no problem. We tried a deluxe double room and an apartment, and preferred the deluxe double. It was modern, at the front of the lovely building, and its big windows made it bright. Great value for money, and we'd stay again.

We had a spacious triple room with three single beds and an en suite. It was on the second floor, so there were lots of stairs and no lift, but the staff kindly offered to help with our luggage. There's loads of free parking, and it's a quiet spot, just a 5-10 minute Uber ride into the city centre. The staff were very helpful.

For £56 a night, it was cheap, near the town centre, and the room was clean. There was also plenty of free parking. But I wouldn't stay again because there was no soundproofing. I could hear conversations through the walls, and people in the room above kept me awake all night. I told reception, but the banging carried on past 3am. I got no sleep, and could hear everything happening in the hotel at all hours.

We booked room 5 and were awake by 6.30AM each morning because so much light came through the windows, even with the blinds down. I'm not sure if all the rooms are like that or just ours, but no alarm clock was needed. The hotel itself is good value, with free parking and very clean rooms. It's a large hotel in an old building, but our deluxe double room was modern and spacious, with everything we needed. The shower was great, and we appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The TV had apps like Netflix, YouTube and Spotify alongside regular channels. I'd stay again, definitely good value for money.
