We booked the night before, needing somewhere pleasant to stop on the way back down from Scotland. Both hosts were warm and welcoming, and the quiet surroundings made for a great night's sleep. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had very comfortable beds and a powerful hot shower. Breakfast was delicious, with really fresh fruit and a cooked meal that was perfect. The black pudding deserves a special mention, one of the best I’ve ever had. There’s also a cosy communal living room full of books and maps to browse. If you need somewhere near Oban, I’d stay here.

We changed our plans at the last minute and were lucky to find a room for the night. Darren and Karen gave us a lovely welcome, and the room was comfortable. From the breakfast room there are stunning views, and rabbits, voles and pine marten often appear just outside on the patio. The hosts have a huge collection of guidebooks and know the region well, so their advice helped us make more of our visit. Homemade breakfast accompaniments were delicious, and it was clear Darren and Karen put in extra effort to help guests enjoy their stay. There’s an excellent hotel and National Trust for Scotland gardens less than a two-minute walk away, so you can enjoy this beautiful corner of Scotland without going far.

Darren knows the area so well and described the view from our window and the surrounding places. The B&B is beautiful, and he and Karen are a lovely couple. Breakfast was lovely too, with the same view across to the islands. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
