The town has lots to see and do, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay at The Bull Hotel. We loved the room’s traditional design, and it was very clean. We had lunch there too. It took a little while to arrive, but the food was fresh and really tasty. I was especially glad to find such a good non-alcoholic drinks menu. We had a fantastic night and will definitely come back.

Breakfast was a delight, and there are plenty of different spots to sit in the lovely bar. The staff were friendly and helpful even when they were busy, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Tom sorted out a small issue for us brilliantly, which we really appreciated. The rooms are all different, cosy, and in keeping with the building’s style, with very comfortable beds. We’d highly recommend the hotel and look forward to coming back.

The biggest room was great value, with a good shower, a roll-top bath that was handy for the baby, and a comfy bed. We stumbled on this place at the last minute while looking for a dog- and baby-friendly break from the post-Christmas chaos. Everyone on staff, including the manager, was lovely and helpful. The gluten-free food was delicious, there was lots going on, and there are cute independent shops and a few pubs just a two-minute walk away. We’ll definitely return.

The food was pleasant, and our waiter was helpful with drinks suggestions and made sure the pre-ordered vegan dishes were right. The festive menu still felt a little lacklustre, though, and the portions seemed quite small. When we arrived, nobody came over to greet us. Three waiters were chatting nearby, so we had to approach them ourselves. We were seated away from most of the other diners, which left the atmosphere feeling a bit flat.

We’ve lived in Olney for 18 months and fallen in love with the town. The Bull has become part of our routine: lunch platters, evening meals, quiz nights, Halloween events, or just a quiet Sunday drink after a walk. Chris and the team make everyone feel welcome, and they clearly care about the people who come through the door. The food is fantastic, especially those truffle fries, and the trio Sunday roast was as good as we expected. Tuesday quiz nights draw groups of all sizes, from two people to eight or more, and visitors staying at The Bull are welcomed too. Some have even won. For Halloween, the team put on pumpkin decorating, a visit from Rumi K-Pop demon hunters, and a disco for the kids, followed by a spooky adults-only evening. Christmas has brought Santa breakfasts, festive treats, and even a band-aoke. There’s live music and a lovely atmosphere. The pub is family- and dog-friendly, with a pup bar stocked with blankets, water, and biscuits. You might meet Chris’ dog, Stanley, who’s gradually getting used to people and becoming much more confident. There are wheelchair-accessible lifts from the rear car park and clean toilets. The whole team is warm and cheerful, and they’re always on hand. Sign up to The Bull for offers and event information. They also care about helping local charities and businesses. Keep up the great work, we love The Bull and the team.
