Built in 1901, the hotel features a thoughtfully designed layout with a variety of room types: single, double, twin, and basic/deluxe triple and quadruple options. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom, complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a desk suitable for business travellers. Complimentary tea and coffee are also provided. Guests can enjoy the convenience of our on-site tea house called Flattie in a Teacup. Limited guest parking is available, with nine spaces, including private and street parking. Tour groups are also welcome. Please note: • The Stromness Hotel is a dry hotel. This means that alcoholic beverages are not served anywhere on the premises. • The Stromness Hotel welcomes pets. Up to 2 well-behaved pets are allowed with applicable charges. Please note that dogs must be kept on leads in public areas and cleaned up after. • The lift is temporarily out of service. • Please note that the restaurant is temporarily closed from October 14, 2025, until April 12, 2026. • Please note that the reception is not available, and self check-in is required. The key safes are located next to the door of each room. • Please note that smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises, except in the designated outdoor smoking area. Any evidence of smoking outside this area will result in financial charges.
