Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford

We’ve stayed at Leonardo Hotels before and enjoyed it again. The location is really good, and the staff across the hotel were friendly. At breakfast they welcomed guests with big smiles, and the food was delicious with a wide range of choices and fruit. Anna at Reception deserves special credit. She was professional and empathetic, understood the customer’s language, and went beyond expectations. She deserves a managerial position. Amrita at Leo's Lounge Bar was also very friendly, good at solving problems and attentive to customers. My experience with Denisa at Leo's Bar was very different. She needs customer service training and should learn to deal with customers even when she’s having a bad day. When handing over a Peach cocktail, she seemed to confuse the letter 'P' with 'B' and angrily said, "Here is your b****". Everyone at the table heard and was shocked. If Denisa can’t handle customers asking questions, she’s in the wrong industry.

The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and was very well organized. We also appreciated the complimentary upgrade to an executive room at the Leonardo Royal Hotel. Its clean, minimal design has a car theme that fits beautifully with Oxford’s automotive heritage, and the amenities were excellent. Definitely worth staying here if you’re visiting Oxford.

Buses run regularly, so getting into Oxford was easy, and the location is great with lovely rooms. The only problem was the heat in our room. Adjusting the AC didn’t seem to help, and when we left the windows open for the day, they’d been shut again by the time we returned. It was uncomfortable trying to sleep, but otherwise we had a great stay.

The food was amazing and the service superb. The international staff were excellent, including Laura, Sania, Sauib, Aashiq and Sergiy. The birthday treats and Christmas gift were so thoughtful. This hotel has got the service, standard and Christmas spot on, and I’ll definitely use the chain again. I loved having breakfast until 11am, a blessing that all hotels should offer as standard. My executive room was quiet and peaceful, with a comfortable, cosy, clean large bed that wasn’t two beds pushed together. It also came with a robe, slippers and White Company toiletries. The hotel is excellent.
