We couldn’t get comfortable and checked out early to move to another hotel. The location was okay, but the bedroom felt old, dusty and used, with stained carpet that seemed to collect dust, smells and marks and must be hard to keep fresh. The bathroom had been renovated, but it was the tiniest I’ve ever seen and had nowhere to put our things. We could hear other guests far too clearly, especially the people above us who seemed to run a marathon for over two hours from 5 am. The heater was on, but we couldn’t find a way to control it. The window only opened a little, so the room got too warm and stuffy.

We had no problems during our two-night stay, and the room was clean, neat and had all the amenities we needed. Even though we arrived after the desk had closed, self check-in was very easy to follow. The location was the deciding factor for us: it’s a 15 to 20 minute walk to Oxford’s city centre. The car park is first come, first served, but there are other options nearby, including a Park & Ride ten minutes away that’s still quite affordable. I’d definitely recommend this guest house.

It’s a basic hotel, but very clean, with a spacious room that wasn’t laid out very well. The bed was fairly comfortable, though the pillows were saggy, and there was no plug socket by the mirror for doing my hair. The car park is very small, but the location is excellent for catching a bus into the city.

We’d chosen this hotel for its great reviews and the parking. Check-in was really disappointing. The receptionist kept telling us to move our car straight away to a paid car park, without giving directions or any alternatives. She repeated that it had to happen immediately because her shift ended at 17:30, although the hotel information says check-in is available until 20:00. For a hotel with such good reviews, that felt very unprofessional. The hotel was also very noisy. There was no staff around at night, and some guests were loud, so we had a bad night.
